In order to CONNECT with you, we need something [common] to relate to. Beside my everyday life, I am curious about the world. Why do we have two nostrils? Why do we yawn? How much does a shadow weigh? How do we memorize sound? Call me your personal and educational entertainer. In this blog I am going to attempt to explain life's simple questions, share my life stories, and say those things that people don't have the guts to say (thank you Jenna Marbles).

Need Time to Kill? No Worries, YouTube is here.
Now that we are back home for break (which was very well needed) we tend to find ourselves bored at times. Some of those activities may include Facebook, cooking, reading, running, making snowman (whenever it'll snow), or even cleaning the house because you are that bored. But let me show you the world of YouTube where happiness never dies.
So here's a classic: NigaHiga (Ryan Higa) is one of the most subscribed accounts with 6 million subscriptions. He's a comedian but can also talk about serious stuff...in a humorous way...So you know he's legit. Watch his older stuff especially his "How to be..." videos :)
Liked NigaHiga? That's what I thought. Well KevJumba (Kevin Wu) is a good one and in fact he just had his 100th video! His inner Asian comes out a little more than Ryan. His dad is in a lot of his videos which is cute. Kevin knows a lot of famous people like Jeremy Lin and they appear in some of his videos. So if you are a die hard fan of Jeremy Lin, GO NOW.
A girl version of NigaHiga is CommunityChannel (Natalie Tran) who is also a comedian, bu with an Australian accent, score! She does a lot of videos that involve "First World Problem" stuff which is hilarious because they are true. She is more skit based where there will be multiples of her. Although she hasn't been posting as often, her videos are still funny especially her old ones.
Whoops got distracted by watching Natalie's videos. Smosh (Ian and Anthony) is another classic also with 6 million subscriptions but here's the catch, they aren't Asian! Jk. But really. They are mainly script based but they have also explored other kinds of style too. I remembered watching Smosh a lot as a kid and they are part of the reason why I'm hooked with YouTube.
But if you want real comedians to lighten your day then go to Hotandfluffycomedy (Gabriel Inglesias) and Anjelahcomedy (Anjelah Johnson) where they will literally make you LOL. My favorite video by Anjelah is Nail Salon because it is spot on!
Mysteryguitarman (Joe Penna) is a Brazilian guitarist, animator, and film maker. I give this man a lot of credit for what he does not only because of his creativity but for how time consuming making and editing the video takes. He is what I would call a true YouTuber. As always his older stuff is very entertaining (not that his current stuff is) because that was when he was trying to reach a large audience.
If you love games then this guy will steal your heart. Freddiew (Freddie Wong) is a phenomenal film maker and VFX technician. He also works with his buddy, Brandon, since college. Their editing skills will blow you away. In my humble opinion, they make the best first person shooting videos. He truly has talent and I suggest watching his videos!
Check out CorridorDigital (Niko and Sam), Pwnisher (Clinton Jones), and FinalCutKing (Zach King) who do similar works to Freddiew.
If you like short films then WongFuProductions (Wes, Ted, and Phil) is the one! These guys put a lot of thought into their work and they can create some beautiful stuff. They are more artistic with their work but hey, what's wrong with that? WongFu also does a thing called Wong Fu Weekends also known as WFW and they vlog about their personal lives.
Craving for pranks? Well PrankvsPrank (Jesse and Jeana) is definitely a time sucker! They truly are the craziest couple on YouTube but they are perfect for each other. They also have a second channel BFvsGF where they also vlog about their personal lives. It's pretty entertaining and I always watch their videos everyday. Finally, Jesse has his own gaming channel and he talks about his time in the military. It's called DownRangeGaming so you should check it out because his stories are interesting!
Tobuscus (Toby Turner) should be a familiar name when it comes to YouTube. His personality is loveable because he's just so dang entertaining. He does a thing called "Cute, Win, Fail" where he shows three engaging videos under the three categories submitted by users. Then the following week, the audience dictates which of the three videos is "epic." Another thing he does is literal trailers which is hilarious! Toby has a gaming channel TobyGames that's just as popular as his main one. He plays all kinds of games known to man. Jk. But he plays a lot of games and he does impressions of some of the characters. It's really funny and you need to check them out, especially his Happy Wheels segments. He's just a great guy.
Craving for knowledge? What about random facts? Then Vsauce (Michael Stevens) is the one for you. He shares amazing facts about the world. Better yet, he shares the best of the internet too. Basically random cool stuff that you wish you had but don't have. There's also a second channel Vsauce2 (Kevin) but with more random stuff, woohoo! I guarantee you'll be spending a lot of your time here, just saying. Consider yourself warned.
Speaking of mind blowing stuff, Brusspup will fool you in a lot of his illusions. They are really cool and some could even be pulled off as party tricks! He does science tricks too.
Similarly, HouseholdHacker (Dylan) shows great life hacks, mods, cheats, pranks, gaming, and of course science.
Hungry for food? Fear no more as EpicMealTime (Harley Morenstein and Friends) will show you the ways of high calorie meals. Some are disgusting but some are mouth watering. Not gonna lie these guys really are epic.
It's a given that any person coming to YouTube must watch JennaMarbles (Jenna Marbles). She is easily one of the funniest people on YouTube and doesn't need to be drunk to claim that title. She is easily a bombshell that we all wish we were. She is basically the queen of all randomness. She is a must.
If you want more funny people check out ItsKingsleyBitch (Kingsley), Glozell1 (Glozell), JustinJamesHughes (Justin James Hughes), ShitGirlsSay (Kyle and Gradon), and SoccerGrlProbsVids.
To finish this list off...Music! Cimorellitheband (Cimorelli Sisters) consist of six sisters who have recently been making original songs. They are very talented and unique! Other great singers are Gabebondoc (Gabe Bondoc), Gootmusic (Alex Goot), Tylerwardmusic (Tyler Ward), Doggettbm (Brad Doggett), JustBeingShu (Shulin Lee), and Kinagrannis (Kina Grannis). Lindseystomp (Lindsey Stirling) is a violinist who really loves to rock out.
With guitar check out Rpoland, Jwcfree (Sungha Jung), and Mssandrabae (Sandra Bae).
With piano check out Ronaldjenkees (Ronald Jenkees), Kylelandry (Kyle Landry), Harrythepiano (Harry), and Thepianoguys.
Need some beats? Check out DJearworm (Dj Earworm), MrSuicideSheep, Itsmadeon (Madeon), and M4S0N1C.
I also have YouTube channels if you are ever THAT BORED. My primary one Themediversion is random stuff I use to do for my school and my second one Theaccutanediary is a progress video dedicated to an acne treatment called Accutane. They aren't that great honestly.
So yeah welcome to the world of YouTube my friends. You have no idea how much I am into this insane world. I'm subscribed to many more YouTubers and I might write a second part blog. I mean I did waste a lot of time today just watching videos because I was so distracted. I am open to new YouTube channels and videos so if you have any in mind, don't hesitate to comment below! Happy Holidays everybody! <3 :)

First World Problems Part One
Being in college sort of puts life in perspective:
- Being upset about getting one sweet and sour sauce for my 10 piece chicken. Now I'm going to have to divide and conquer.
- I missed the deadline to pick up my mail on Saturday, now I have to wait to get it in the afternoon on Monday.
- I hate the awkward moment when you are in the elevator deciding whether or not to wait for the person swiping the door to get in.
- I was late to class and my usual seat was taken.
- I need to clean my laundry and all the washer and dryers are taken in the North tower. I'm too lazy to walk to the South tower with my full hamper.
- My mouth hurts from laughing too much.
- I can't eat lunch today because I ate too much for breakfast.
- I didn't use all my meal swipes for the week.
- I lay sideways on my bed and the auto rotate activated on my phone. Now I have to lay awkwardly to make it stand up right.
- I had a pop quiz in my class and my professor asked what the first paragraph was about. I should have skimmed it.
- I want to buy something from a vending machine but I only have $20 bills.
- I'm in the car and was excited to sing along to my favorite song, until it's in Spanish.
- I didn't check "keep me signed in" so now I have to type all my information again.
- When I want to use the toilet and it's not flushed, so I go to the next stall instead of flushing it.
- Air bubbles under screen protectors.
- Doesn't have enough money in checking account but really wants to buy something right now so transfers money from savings account.
- Don't want to go out for the night, already took off my bra.
- Butt hurts because my desk chair is uncomfortable.
- All the marshmellows in the lucky charms are gone.
Now that I think about it, I guess some of these are personal problems.

How Much Money Is Love Worth?
So we all know that you can't literally buy love. What if you paid a machine that could make you fall in love for the rest of your life? If so, how much would the machine charge?
Love has many meanings but let's clarify which type of love we're trying to focus on. It's not the type of love that you have for learning (Ha!), or friends, or food, or family. This isn't talking about lust, where there is an immediate attraction triggered by hormones such as tetostorones or estrogens. It's the type afterwards where there is an associated reward with another person, like obsessed newly weds, called passionate love.
Passionate love is a great example of Limerence, where one is in a state of mind regarding of their surroundings only to achieve greatness in the presence of another person. It sounds creepy, because I can't really word things well, but take this example: You wake up pretty early because you are going to play tennis with somebody, and even though you are missing class, that's how badly you want to see them, therefore you are exerting limerent behavior. This sounds great and all but in order to sell love, you would have to measure it.
But how? It's a pretty difficult task, but there is a tool called The Passionate Love Survey, developed by psychologists, and it turns out to be reliable when it comes to other behaviors associated with passionate love. Click here if you want to check the survey out. For instance, it turns out that both men and women exert the same amount of passionate love when in a relationship. It's also been found that men tend to fall in love faster and sooner than women who are more cautious.
Let's bring money into this interesting idea.
There was a case study done with people who were told that someone loved them, hearing the words "I love you" for the first time, those sick twisted people. The amount of happiness people felt was compared to the happiness gamblers feel when they win large sums of money. The conclusion was when people who hear the words "I love you" for the first time is equivalent to the happiness level of receiving $267,000!
But beyond passionate love comes committed long term love, and there are benefits that marriage brings. That includes tax breaks and health care cost all together, it has been estimated that being married is equivalent to receiving an extra $100,000 a year! Don't believe it? Click here to see an article from CNNMoney about happiness and marriage.
We have a lot of ways of visualizing the effects having money has on a person. For instance, we know that people in wealthier countries, report feeling respect more often. Also, people report eating tastier foods.
Look at this graph of wealth against love:

We have a lot of ways of visualizing the effects having money has on a person. For instance, we know that people in wealthier countries, report feeling respect more often. Also, people report eating tastier foods.

Look at this graph of wealth against love:

It turns out that love is really democratic, and is common in poor countries as it is in rich countries. Encouragingly, it doesn't mean that having more money should necessarily make you more happy, you know with the saying "love buys happiness."
Guess what, there's a term for this! It seems like there is term for everything nowadays. This is called the Hedonic Treadmill. Getting more money helps with the happiness but only to a certain point. In the United States, that point is $75,000 a year where more money diminishes the amount of returned happiness it makes on you.

I guess you aren't satisfied with what you don't have until you have it. Another thing that accumulates to more money is living a longer life expectancy, but you know what's another thing that relates to living longer? Love. Not just passionate love but committed long term love. In fact, people who form strong long term bonds with another live 15% longer. This results to an extra $30,000 to $40,000 a year in a pair bond that is achieved for life, assuming all things are equal where no one is already super rich.
You should also pay me $400,000 to find you love. Jk. But seriously, that would be nice.
Interestingly enough there are chemicals that are exuded in people's brains when they see pictures of people that they committed long term relationships with. These chemicals are called Oxytocin and Vasopressin. Funny enough, we also see these levels rise in dogs who have been petted for a really long time.
![]() |
He is so CUTE and fluffy I'm gonna die! Hint, hint, that's what my next "Interesting" article is going to be about. |
We also know that people who have higher levels of these chemicals resolve their conflicts faster. However, people who struggle to produce these chemicals also struggle in relationships. So to raise those levels you can just look into someone else's eyes.
Wait that means looking into the eyes of someone that you like, is the administration of a psychoactive chemicals that's addictive, and the long term consequences are living longer. Hmm interesting.
I hope you enjoyed that and would love it if you could comment below! Again check out Vsauce for interesting things!
